TDS meter – Digital tester for measuring dissolved solids in water
The digital TDS meter is an inexpensive and convenient digital tool for instant monitoring of overall water quality by measuring the total dissolved solids (TDS = Total Dissolved Solids) in water, which includes any salt, metal, or mineral.
By pressing the button, the HOLD function can tell you your overall water purity level, which will be displayed on the screen in ppm (parts per million). The lower the TDS level, the purer the water, with 0 ppm being 100% pure water. The TDS meter is great for checking the quality of tap water or knowing when to replace the filter. (The meter does not test for biological contaminants.) It is an excellent tool for drinking water, filtration and purification, hydroponics (test your nutrients), aquariums, RO/DI systems, pools and spas, and more.
Characteristics of a digital TDS meter
- Economic model that is ideal for end users. Highly efficient and accurate thanks to advanced microprocessor technology.
- Hold function – saves measurements for convenient reading and recording.
- Auto shut-off feature – the meter automatically turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity to save battery.
- Display – large and easily readable LCD screen.
- Measurement range: 0-9990 ppm. From 0 to 999 ppm, the resolution is in increments of 1 ppm. From 1000 to 9990 ppm, the resolution is in increments of 10 ppm, which is indicated by a flashing image of ‘x10’. Fun, translucent blue casing that is very sturdy and durable.
- The TDS meter is calibrated to 342 ppm with a NaCl solution. The meter can be recalibrated using a mini screwdriver. It includes a TDS graph sticker on the back of the meter that explains the TDS values.
